el bodegon.
i would like to start this off by saying, i may have found my current favorite orlando restaurant.
el bodegon is a spanish tapas restaurant on 17-92 right next to rocco’s italian grille. i have been wanting to try it out for a while, and i finally made it a point to do so. i’m always willing to try somewhere that says spanish tapas on the sign!
jamie and i decided to share a lot of the tapas, since i like doing that so much more than getting just one entree. we shared calamari, patatas bravas, ham croquettes, fried garbanzos with ham and chorizo, sherry marinated shrimp, a caesar salad, and we each got the white bean and ham soup. the soup was possibly my favorite part of the meal. i could not stop eating it! honestly though, i didn’t try anything i didn’t like. soorya’s lamb shanks were ridiculous, the meat just melting off the bone. josh got the skirt steak, which was also delicious. we shared a pitcher of sangria, which was $21 but we got six glasses out of it! also, a lot of restaurants make sangria too sweet to drink much of, but this was perfect.
our server was nice and informative, he told us what his favorites were. the food came out really quickly. the only down side was how long it took to pay, but i can overlook that for all the great food!
