graffiti junktion.
last friday was a good day. i didn’t have to work, we had tickets to see the magic whoop up on the nets, i won free lucero tickets, i bought ridiculous stuff at thrift stores, and i got to go to dinner with jamie, soorya, and josh. graffiti junktion is a new restaurant in thornton park, right by dexters and burtons. i heard the decor was ridiculous but the food was good, and i’m always down for good food. i suppose that is pretty obvious. my initial thoughts? i love how much outdoor seating there is. there’s a patio area, as well as a large covered area, perfect for dining when it’s raining. the decor was loud, but not too terribly grating. the music was also loud, but i guess it is to be expected. we shared the chili cheese fries and fried zucchini. i’m not gonna lie, that zucchini has me wanting more. it was just the right amount of batter, warm and gooey in the middle. the chili cheese fries were pretty good too, it is just not my favorite thing in general, since i hate soggy fries. no big deal. here is the other best thing ever: burgers with egg on it. and yes, they have it on the menu, and yes, i ordered it. i still back the bacon/egg/cheese burger at christo’s more, but it was still a solid choice. all in all, if you are ok with eating not so healthy, it’s a good spot to go. it’s also good for watching sports, since most sports bars i have been to have really gnarly food (ala the clubhouse downtown. gross.) i’m happy about it, you can be too.
